  • Learn how to identify individuals who have struggled with adverse childhood experiences in order to manage their long term clinical outcomes

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Be able to identify ACEs on a spectrum of presentation

  • Be able to recommend evidence based treatments for ACEs

  • Be able to explain to patients how ACEs can lead to lifelong changes in health and other areas of functioning not related to ACEs

  • Be able to identify the most common presentations of ACEs

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT & ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • AUDIENCE: This course is appropriate for social workers, counselors, psychologists, and physicians.

  • CREDIT ACQUISITION AND POST TEST RETAKE REQUIREMENT: To receive credit, please register with your complete information, attend the full course with video on, and complete the post test and course evaluation with a passing score of 60% within 3 test attempts

  • TO OBTAIN CERTIFICATE: The certificate is awarded immediately upon successful completion of post test and course evaluation via email.

 

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY

  • Dr. Suni Jani is a Board Certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist, a Consultant Psychiatrist in the United Kingdom, and a Board Certified Independent Medical Examiner currently practicing in Maryland. She graduated with her doctorate in Medicine from The George Washington University, completed her General Psychiatry residency training at the Baylor College of Medicine, and did her Child and Adolescent fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital. She currently holds an appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland, a Clinical Instructor at the George Washington University, and the Director of Research and Development at Community Behavioral Health. She has published widely on numerous disciplines in mental health.

 

ASWB ACE APPROVAL STATEMENT

  • Community Behavioral Health, Provider #1788, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Community Behavioral Health maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 10/26/2021-10/26/2022. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credits.
